AI basics before your first course
AI tools generate answers from patterns in their training data. They do not understand a task like a person, and confident wording can still be incomplete, biased, made up, or out of date.
Begin with public, made-up, or your own non-sensitive material. Avoid tasks where a wrong answer could affect health, safety, employment, education, finances, rights, or another person.
Do not enter personal, workplace, client, student, health, financial, or identifying information into an unapproved public tool. Check your organisation's rules first.
Say what you need, the useful context, any limits, the format you want, and what the tool must not make up. Clear requirements matter more than provider-specific prompt tricks.
Compare claims with the original or another trusted source. Check names, dates, quotations, calculations, links, missing details, and changes in certainty before using the answer.
A person remains responsible for important decisions. Stop when privacy, consent, source support, accountability, or the risk of mistakes cannot be managed.
Optional: if you already have access to an approved AI tool, take a short public paragraph and ask for three plain-language bullets, then mark every unsupported addition or missing qualification. You can complete the same comparison yourself without a tool. Do not upload a real private document.

How course sources are doing
Checked Aug 10, 2026: we track 38 sources. We check 18 course websites every day. We are also watching 20 more source pages, but we do not yet have a course list we can check automatically. 17 sources responded and showed 77 possible listings. 168 listings from recent checks are still being reviewed. A listing is not ready just because we found it. When automatic publishing is on, it appears only after every required check passes. Incomplete finds stay hidden.
Known limits: blocked or unavailable course websites stay in the daily count; we do not treat them as course removals. We do not count a source page until we confirm that it has a direct course list. These figures come from the latest production check. This list is broad but not complete.
Help us improve the list
Providers and learners can send an official course link for us to check. Suggestions go through the same checks as every other listing.
