A survey of 5,013 Canadian investors found that financial advisors remain the most trusted source of investment information, even as four in 10 investors have used generative AI for investment research. The Securities and Investment Management Association and Pollara Strategic Insights conducted the survey from June 16 to July 2, 2026. Among investors who use AI, 42 per cent use it to build general investment knowledge, while 21 per cent use it to check advice from an advisor.
